Employee Benefits

Nueces County Community Action Agency offers its employees an excellent benefit package which includes the following:

Holidays & Leave
As an employee of NCCAA, you will receive thirteen (13) paid holidays per year after the trial period has been completed. In addition, you will also accumulate both personal and sick leave monthly.

Health Coverage
All employees of NCCAA are eligible to participate in the agency’s medical plan 1st of the month following sixty (60) days of employment. All employees must make a decision to elect or decline coverage. Additionally, our annual Open Enrollment takes place every November for coverage effective January 1st of the following year.

Dental/Vision
All employees of NCCAA are eligible to participate in the agency’s dental and vision plans 1st of the month following sixty (60) days of employment. Employees have the option to elect dental and/or vision coverage for themselves and eligible dependents at competitive rates.

Accident/Critical Illness
All employees of NCCAA are eligible to participate in the agency’s group accident and critical illness plans 1st of the month following sixty (60) days of employment.

Cafeteria Plan
The Revenue act of 1978 created Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code that allows employees to pay for fringe benefits with untaxed dollars. These include: medical, dental, vision, accident, and critical illness insurance.

Life Insurance / Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D)
All employees of NCCAA are eligible to participate in the agency’s life insurance plan 1st of the month following sixty (60) days of employment. NCCAA offers its employees a $10,000 life insurance policy free of charge. Amount of policy varies according to the age of the employee. Additional life insurance coverage may also be elected by the employee for themselves and/or their eligible dependents.

Hospital Indemnity
All employees of NCCAA are eligible to participate in the agency’s hospital indemnity plan 1st of the month following sixty (60) days of employment.

Disability Insurance
All employees of NCCAA are eligible to participate in the agency’s short term and long disability plans 1st of the month following sixty (60) days of employment.

Legal Plan
All employees of NCCAA are eligible to participate in the agency’s MetLaw legal plan 1st of the month following sixty (60) days of employment.

Pet Insurance
All NCCAA employees are eligible to sign up for a discounted pet insurance program immediately upon the date of hire.

Retirement/Pension Plan
The Agency provides an employee retirement pension plan at no cost to the employee. All employees are eligible to sign up and contribute to a retirement plan immediately upon the date of hire. After one year of employment, NCCAA begins to contribute to the employee’s retirement account.
