Maintenance - Assistant/Bus Driver/Technician

| Essential Job requirements: A GED or High School diploma is preferred, but not required, and one year maintenance experience. Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test. Must successfully pass a physical exam. Requires a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class B-CDL with "P" Endorsement) within 3 months of employment; and driving record, which is subject to review and approval by agency insurance carrier, must have no moving motor vehicle violation. Requires First Aid certification and CPR within 30 days of employment. Dresses in appropriate attire and be professional in appearance and mannerisms. Must be a DOT certified driver. If not certified at time of employment, must be certified within 30 days of employment by an approved medical testing facility. Proof of work eligibility must be provided. If employed and do not have a GED or High School Diploma, Employee will be encouraged to enroll in the Agency’s GED program. |

| Responsibilities: Attends to small maintenance repairs at all Birth-To-Five Head Start Centers in accordance with TDPRS requirements (i.e., fixing broken windows, plumbing, fixing cabinets/drawers, etc.) occasionally bending, stooping, squatting, climbing, reaching above shoulder level, kneeling, and balancing--requires frequent twisting and grasping tools/equipment. Manicures lawns using an industrial commercial lawnmower & self propelled lawnmowers, edger, weed eater, and blower weighing up to 30 pounds with occasional bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, standing, and balancing. Delivers equipment to Head Start centers when needed (i.e., classroom furniture and refrigerators) weighing up to 75-100+ pounds by lifting/carrying equipment with another person's assistance to the dolly and pushing dolly to the appropriate location. Maintains all agency vehicles by using a checklist daily, taking vehicles in for oil changes, tune-ups, and vehicle repairs and washing vehicles as needed. Serves as a bus driver for daily pick up & on field trips and stresses safety riding habits to the children. |
