NeighborWorks Week Events
National NeighborWorks® Week, June 7-14, 2008, is a celebration of the accomplishments of the NeighborWorks® Network working in more than 4,414 urban, suburban and rural communities across the nation. It offers a chance for all of us
to contribute to the remarkable transformation of distressed neighborhoods in our communities.
During National NeighborWorks® Week, NeighborWorks Organizations across the country mobilize tens of thousands of business people, residents and government officials in a week of neighborhood change and awareness. They rehab and
repair homes, paint and landscape properties, conduct neighborhood tours, recognize successful partnerships and host a number of events that educate, train and inform. Thousands of families benefit from the week’s activities
nationwide.
National NeighborWorks® Week gives you a chance to
be part of a positive force in your community. It links you to a
NeighorWorks® organization firmly established in the community and
enables you to cultivate new relationships with other participating
partners and volunteers.
The first event in which we are looking for volunteers is this coming Saturday, June 7, 2008. The event planned is a NeighborWorks Paint Job. This is event starting early morning – 7:30 a.m. at 3737 Sarita Street. The elderly
homeowner is Rosa F. Castillo. We are asking for as many volunteers as possible to make this project a successful event. We will have all the paint and paint brushes available; and bug spray. Bring your sunscreen, hats, etc. We will
have taquitos, water, coffee, etc. We estimate that the project will take no longer than three (3) hours to complete (relatively speaking).
Please contact Sam Esquivel if you would like to help out.
